The Azure Empress, Catrine Beatrix Strom II

Upon the death of her father the Emperor, the stage was set for her uncle, the Chairman of Parliament Lord Marcus Severin, to take the Azure throne.  However, to everyones' astonishment, Catrine emerged, having been out of the public eye for several years.

now, at the age of only twenty-one, Catrine has established herself as a cool-headed and calculating ruler, and has gained the love and admiration of the Imperial City.  As the leader of the Empire, her subjects encompass no less than all of humankind in Ariador.

Abraham Durond

An aging and grizzled mercenary, Durond keeps a low profile, roaming Ariador in search of honest work that will provide him with enough coin to put food in his stomach.  Most commonly, Durond takes jobs guarding small trading caravans.  he never works for the Guild of Merchants.

Durond's past, though, is a constant torment, no matter what lengths he goes to bury it. Those who cross swords with this mercenary soon learn he is far more than he seems...
